Feb 19, 2010 Hello, I recently purchased a Buffet R13 and I was trying to research the serial numbe, which is 36794. When I enter it into the the serial number finder on Buffet's website it says it was made in 1985. Below are approximations taken from the Buffet-Crampon website which allows serial number searches 325,000 Dec 15, 1989 350,000 Oct 17, 1991 400,000 May 15, 1995 450,000 Sept 16, 1998 500,000 June 24, 2002 550,000 Nov 7, 2005 (or maybe July 11) 600,000 noting returned: It seems as though they have a very long lay over for christmas and new years holidays. This would be perfect for any student - beginner to intermediate and will last well through high school. New these cost around $1800-$2200 depending on where you look. This also has an adjustable thumb rest with a neck strap attachment. The neck strap is not included. Many older clarinets do not have the neck strap attachment. The pads are in good shape and the instrument plays and works fine. As with any used wind instrument, you’ll probably want to replace the mouthpiece.
